A supremely wonderful adventure game with some dark subject matter. Though it has some faults, they are very small and don't really detract from the great story. Daemonica isn't perfect but it certainly made me want to play, which is a lot of what you want from a game. Its dark side appealed to mine, and for me, its strengths overpowered its flaws. Its final rating might not be the same as yours isn't that always the case but reflects how much fun I had over a few very lengthy and absorbing playing sessions.

Hidden gem, hidden gem, hidden gem!!!!! It's not perfect, but I love this game! Did I mention this game was a hidden gem? Because it is!! Loved it! Finally a horror game that plays with your head and doesn't rely solely on cheap 'jump out and scare you' tactics.

Cinemax and RA Images planned a sequel to the game but it was cancelled. Daemonica tells a story of Haresh al-Dorem, the beast hunter, who is known as Nicholas Farepoynt. In the prologue, the player finds out that Nicholas was born as Nicholas Mortimer a son of Roger Mortimer and queen Isabella. When Mortimer was executed, Nicholas was sent to a church in France and was renamed Farepoynt. He later became a mercenary and joined the English army in the Hundred Years' War.
